Role Description

As an Environment Artist at Chronicle, you will produce some of the very first locations in our new fictional universe, working with the Creative Director to explore and define the aesthetic and set a gold standard for quality of in-game art. Initial work will be in support of pre-production and prototyping, and later will move on to producing environment art for the game at final quality.

While we are still under COVID-19 restrictions this role will initially be work-from-home, but per your preference it can transition to mostly in-office in London, as part of our flexible location model.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Creative Director to adapt aesthetic concepts to real 3D game environments

  • Create high-quality environments for Unreal Engine including landscapes, interiors and set-pieces

  • Assist with achieving the final render quality through lighting and a keen eye for color and materials

  • Define a standard for environment art and support the integration and feedback of outsourced assets

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure art is integrated seamlessly with other facets of the game

 

Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience or at least one shipped title as an Environment Artist

  • Experience creating high-quality environments, objects, and lighting in Unreal Engine

  • Broad 3D art skills, including photogrammetry, retopology, UV unwrapping, shader editors

  • A discerning eye for detail, and ability to optimize the overall render quality of a scene to a high standard

  • Self-motivated and able to collaborate well with team members of all development disciplines
