Role Description

As Sr. Gameplay Designer at Chronicle, you will work closely with programmers to discover, design, and build the fun and innovative gameplay of our flagship title. Initially you will work with other team members to design and implement prototypes, moving on to develop multiple gameplay systems at final quality. This role involves close collaboration with other disciplines to shape the vision of the project, as you integrate gameplay with other facets of the game and iterate towards a cohesive overall experience.

While we are still under COVID-19 restrictions this role will initially be work-from-home, but per your preference it can transition to mostly in-office in London, as part of our flexible location model.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in game design discussions and contribute valuable ideas to all aspects of the project

  • Work with the Creative Director and design team to define and communicate a clear vision for the game

  • Develop prototypes to explore gameplay concepts, and iterate based on constructive feedback

  • Design and implement amazing gameplay experiences through collaboration with the broader team

  • Create and maintain clear and effective design documentation

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in professional game development shipping multiple AAA titles, ideally with Unreal Engine

  • Broad design experience in areas such as character and vehicle movement, content, systems, and progression

  • Strong creative problem-solving, math, and analytical skills

  • A deep understanding of the state of the art in game design and interactivity

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong initiative, and ability to drive cross-discipline efforts

  • An added value would be a degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or other related field
